Hey guys. I've finally got some time to go through with some details of a proposed class outing based on the details you gave me during the post-ITP seminar.

I've taken into account the preferred timing of the outing of some of you, and that is that it is held before June and on a weekend. In addition, most had asked for an outdoor activity. Below are some activities I would suggest based on your valued feedback:

Date: Last weekend of May (either 28th or 29th May)

Time: Morning, preferrably 9am or 10am (negotiable and subject to change)

Activity: Mountain trekking @ Bukit Timah Hill - location open to change
Road trekking - route to be advised
Pulau Ubin/St. John's Island trip
Camp at Sentosa (Camp Laguna) and beach activities - location open to change

It would be great if you can provide me with more suggestions and possible follow-up activities after the main outing as soon as possible as I would like to confirm the outing early. I apologise for taking quite some time to bring up the class outing to you again as I have been busy of late. It would be really nice if the whole class can make it for one last outing. It will allow us to celebrate birthdays of the late May babies and sending our best regards to our best class rep, Shifa, who would be enlisting on 3rd June (if I'm not wrong), and Joanne, who will be leaving for further studies in Australia in late June and all those who are on their way to various local universities or a career with their respective full-time employments.

So, I would appreciate if everyone can provide me a reply on this issue, preferrable by the end of this week. You can always reach me through the class blog, my e-mail or my handphone number. Thanks a lot and I look forward to your replies. *sMiLeZ*

to all those who din go to the SB prom nite... aaaahhhhhhhh.... u missed all the fun!!! our darling daniel, jethro and jessica's bf.. (i forgot his name.. sorry!!) dressed up as a panda (cute!!), a shuai devil (hehe) and an unforgettable afro-headed rocker with a tall hat! hahaha... and the games.. the really lame MC... and all the chio bus and shuai ge.. not to mention our very own wilfred!

he totally changed his look!! can i say he look more handsome now? :D haha.. and we all did not recognise him when he came!!! his dressing also.. very hip~~ haha.. i forsee girls lining up if he continues to wear like that :D heheh...

It feels sad to see the blog become a public slanging corner, especially when we are linked to 2 other classes and that some of the lecturers might probably be reading what we post.

And yeah...it feels depressing as a class rep when I look at the class taking corners, switching sides, taking open swipes and whatever anyone calls it...not exactly the way I planned to sign off man.

And now the ITP has ended, maybe everyone at odds with the other should juz make up?

Let's not even talk about who is right or wrong because, quite frankly to me at least, that's not an important issue. I'm all for free speech and expression of one's opinions, but maybe there should be some moderation on our own part?

Well...not really expecting a kiss and make up (literally) but juz clear whatever misunderstandings that existed. It has been a wonderful 3 years, so before all of us embark on our next eventful journeys, I sincerely hope memories of the last 3 years that you take with you for the rest of your lives would be a positively memorable one.

Didn't we all wish for that to happen? I'm quite sure we all do...

So let's all forget all these unhappy past, shake hands sincerely and make up? It's not a terribly difficult thing to do I suppose...

And congrats to all those who secured permanent employment with their ITP companies. Good luck and I know the peepz of DMC 3B02 of 2005 would do well.

sorry shifa, due to technical problem, i was unable to receive the invitation, thanks for reinviting me.

1st of all, i would like to say, i do not bother how people exaggrate about me. i know myself: what i did and nvr did. It is unnecessary to clear the half truths told by others as i do not see it as my responsility. It is the childishness of spoilt brat,s n i fucking bother about it! NORSEY person?obviously, it is not me.

But what i would like to open up here today is wat happened to me. How iwas being set up and framed by childness .....It was something that has big consequences on me!

During CNY, a person in my office kept on telling me to take 1/2 day leave to go back to m'sia for celebration. The person posted shit about me since january,and Y WAS SHE SO CONCERN ABOUT IT so much? It was unsincere,i bet she knew very well herself y she persuaded me to do so?

My LO came to the office end of the month, i had 2job interviews, i gained approval from both company and MR.LOH. but all in a sudden, SOMEONE SO CONCERNED ABOUT IT AGAIN! she told Mr.loh that 1day leave without MC is consider as 3days leave, but i gained approval from company too. If she thinks so, Y WAS SHE KEEP ON ME TELLING ME TO TAKE 1/2 DAY OFF FOR CNY EVE that time??????? What is theb strategy and tactic in her PLAN B. Again she told mr.loh that i took 1.5 day off before(in a very protesting Tone). I did,so what, i gained approval from company too, i told mr.loh. Mr.loh knew it too,so what's her matter!

It was posted here too that she couldnt wait to stay a distance away from me, and she wanted monster-free day) and y was she trying to ruin my 2job interviews and keep on telling mr.loh very very funny things(which i totally NONE oh her business). i could go that time, n she did want me to be near to her and y she tried so hard to screw my interview and make me stayback wen i had jonbinterviews?Her face changed drastically and actED impulsely when mr.loh approved me to take off in front of her. Just becoz of this my 2 job interviews were ruined by her evil plan.

Im sure everyone browse jobstreet.com in the office. But someone reported it to LO also. Telling all shit repeatly like "ESTHER,SHE IS VERY RUDE TO COLLEAGUE, SHE ARGUED WITH HIM!" if she was sincere, she would discuss with me 1st, instead of reporting to MR.Loh straightaway, & i know what I NVR DID!

I m still wondering, how come everytime i talked to her, 8 out of 10 times, she acted deaf, 2/10 she would rolled or stared at me and replied relunctantly, since so, Y WAS SHE SO FRIENDLY TO ME AND ASKED TO SEE MY LOG BOOK EVERYTIME AFTER SHE SAW our supervisor signing my log book? was she checking for me if supervisor signed at the wrong space or...?Who knows?

I m not a norsey-person,i fuckin bother about what ppl say about me. But evil people will try to frame me up ++++++to ruin my job interviews

Im sure that she will feel ashamed after finding out that i have opened up wat she did. Im sure too she nvr told her best friend or anyone! such EVIL tactic and strategy , who would be proud to present it to anyone

hey cx.. sheila kee says there's no sch on sat.. so pls dun go to sch to submit the logbooks on saturday. You can only submit the logbooks on monday morning cos the teacher's not going to be there on saturday.

Also, if you turn to the back of the log book.. you realise there's this blue colour page with your attendance? The attendance sheet should be also marked by the supervisor and it should be attached with the blue sheet to be passed to the ITP dept... hope you guys know what i mean! This is real impt.. if you dun submit that sheet.. you'll be considered fail as well.. so see you all on monday morning!! and maybe we can all go play somewhere then :D

Hi everyone. Attachment's almost over. Counting down to the last 4 days. Hope everyone will get through it safe and sound ya?

Juz wanna post a gentle reminder for the whole class. Please remember to have your logbook completed and signed by the last day of the internship, which is this Friday (15th April 2005) because the logbook has to be submitted on the following day, which is Saturday (16th April 2005).

Though the very latest you can submit your logbook is on Monday (18th April 2005) morning, please leave that as the very last alternative as the lecturers have to submit your grades on the very day. This is because according to the lecturers, if they fail to submit juz one of the grades, the system would reject the results for the entire cohort. So, I hope everyone, for the sake of the lecturers and yourself, please submit the logbook on this Saturday. I'm sure no one wants to fail at this very last hurdle, right?

I will be reminding everyone again on Friday evening through SMS. So there is no excuse to forget ya?

Hi guys...would like to juz ask around if anyone is interested in the following short film competitions.

There are short film competitions for Panasonic and National Geographic. Each film should not exceed 15 minutes in footage and there is no limit on the number of members in each team.

Also, there is another competition for shooting a MTV for PATA Singapore (tourism association). The song is composed and perfomed by local veteran artiste Wendi Koh.

The deadline for all three competitions are in July.

So far, Wilfred, Phoebe and myself have expressed interest in taking part in any one of the three competitions.

If possible, it would be nice if the class can form a team or two to take part? Something to occupy time after graduation perhaps. Do contact me if you're interested. I'll try to find out more about the competitions from Mr. Loh in the meantime.

Firstly, Happy Chinese New Year (still hvn 15 days ryt?) and Valentines' to the people in my lurvely class...

As some of u may not know....i m attached to a media agency in tanjong pagar - Initiative Media...most of the time i m e receptionist...dun ask me why....

The people are nice and the workin environment so-so....da pantry's great...everlastin supply of chocs (maybe cos it was CNY n Valentines'). My pc's fast (by my standards - since e one at home is stil 56k!!!) i dun hav to wear formal to werk...i bring back FREE magazines every other day...i get FREE movie tix to the movie of my choice...i get FREE drinks on coffee bean n spinelli's....WHKHAKAKHAHAKHAKHAKH!!!!

But i'm not happy...Not happy as in i dun get my daily dose of

gastric-inducing, saliva-spitting, snorting laffter....

when i'm in school....now i only get it when i meet my larling (Eileen) for lunch. N that is IF i get to meet her. But half the time we will be griping abt our werk n stuff so not much of laffin goin on either....is this how life at my future workplace will be? Where the jokes my colleagues share are unfunny and lame? (Gosh i'm writing this in da office!!!) and everybody is so fake!! But i'm still surviving....

So far i have onli been to lunch wif Eileen, Wilfred and Phebes....anyone else in Tanjong pagar??? N Terence!!! First time someone completely forgot abt me!!!! u watchiout....(i was askin out to lunch via msn, he told me to wait - i waited - onli to be told at 2 tt he oredy went ahead to eat cos he forgot all abt me...) sighz...........

Oh n one more thing, the first time i read this blog, the main bulk of the content was about Cheryl slammin Esther...I was totally pissed by some her entries. went there on cny eve.. before i went malaysia..
quite squeezy under the bridge.. but i was there for the fireworks so stayed only like what, 20min?

anyway it's ok la, once a year u go "suck" in the atmosphere of cny..
and OMG the fireworks were great.. i was standing at this great spot with lots of photographers..

a trip to river hongbao and chinatown

I went to those 2 places just now and they were just HELL.. hahah... chinatown was esp funny.. have to summarise to cut everything short.. to add on to wil's "Man's ugly side"

1) At river hongbao, we were under the shears bridge to see a peformance when we saw a huge crowd running towards the centre seats.. so being curious we followed and you know wat? A huge crowd of China men were snatching seats and running out of control. That was at 9.15. Some people got hurt in the mess. And all those silly China men were jumping over fences just to get a seat. Sigh. Then the pple announced that the next show will be starting at 10 and they just allowed some pple in cos it was early. I was like *sweatdrop*

2) Went to Chinatown and was essentially being in a snake's stomach. You get constricted. My sis and I were laughing until we teared like mad pple. It was literally a squeeze.. not the usual type of squeeze but it's until like no place to walk and the pple beside you are going the opp direction

3) Nobody gave way and we were stuck like in the same place for a long time. Some kid fell down after getting squashed and his father was shouting at the woman in front of me. Excuse me?? Chinatown is no place for babies and kids and they ought to know it.. secondly, THEY WERE SHOUTING IN THE MIDDLE OF A CROWD!! The pple beside them were going the opp direction lor! So i shouted "Shut up damnit and move! Pple are getting squashed here" and they actually did!! hahahha.. so guo yin... aahhh.. first time i shout and pple listened.. hee~~~

4) The crowd was so bad i had to pull my younger sis out! haha.. and there was one time my mother was pulling me and my younger sis was pulling me and i ended up walking sideways and stretched to my limit!! hahahahahhaha...

overall.. weird but funny experience.. laughed until i cried.. hee~~

that's it folks.. it's official.. i have never gotten an A and never will in my poly life. My supervisor happens to be one of those pple who judge according to the company standard.. and tho she said that i was pretty good for an intern cos i did ok for those things that they ask me to. I'm rated a C... and she dun expect me to get a B cos that means i must have innitiative. Well! It's not that i'm saying that she's a horrible woman and she's not.. and i understand the reason but damn! i need the grade.. sigh... so all you pple out there moaning about ur companies and stuff.. be glad when they give u a B grade... for performance that is.. who cares about conduct? :P

Sigh...I know that was lame. You should see how much I'm cringing now from my extreme lameness. Whatever la huh. Piangz...please forgive me for being sappy, but I miss all of you. Sigh..I miss sch. I even miss getting bugged for class fund. Oh my...this's getting out of hand manz.

Ok la..actually attachment's not that bad. It can get quite happening, actually. For e.g. today...the media owners, whom the company brought us to meet, treated us to lunch at the famous Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant. Muahahaz...it was shiok man. Pheeweet..free food makes me high. O well, one thing I like most about my attached co is its super zai pantry. Everytime I step in there, I get really excited. It's ultra stocked up. Besides the usual tea and milo, U've Haagen Daz, potato chips, sandwiches, biscuits, loads of chocs, damn-delicious-cakes, etc. I've been eating like nobody's business lately manz. (CX -- U can forget about me giving U food already. In fact, I'll appreciate if U'll snatch them from me. I CAN'T STOP EATING!!) :( I seriously need help here manz...can someone please just seal my massive appetite?

But...

However nice the food is, I can't stop missing sch. Sigh.

Kiasu professionals... shame on your self (part 2)

Welcome back people! In case you have just tuned into the program, its about the one day experience you can have with IPO launches. As continued from the last episode, the press conference has begun and the panel for the press conference were taking their turns to deliver their speeches, both in chinese and english.(btw the IPO company is from Hainan Province, China, if you can't tell from the company name.) The press conference turned out pretty well, which I was quite impressed with the chinese speech delivered by the MD of CGL(she's pretty as well) and also the set ups for the conference room; it is good enough to suggest to you that you are surrounded by professionals, if IPO is not good enought to suggest anything to you. No thanks to all those ring tones that interfered with the conference, and also to dumb questions like that guy who said he doubt the ability of the Senior Management team when they are professionals with more than 20 years of experience in it.

After all the boring conference has ended(apparently some participants were dozing off), it was time for dinner and all guest were invited to help themselves at the buffet reception outside the room. All of a sudden, even before the M.C could finish saying that, everyone started to empty the room, as though they were evacuating from a fire inside the room. People were running out of the room, and yes I'm not kidding, to my amazement some senior citizens sure can run, at least the distance to reach the queue line. As mentioned earlier, the company is from Hainan, and thus the highlighted dish for the night is the Chicken Rice(anyone could have guessed that).

With that, the "chicken-rice" war of the century has begun. Mind you people, these guests are not from third world countries nor are they from the european continent and so we cannot blame them for not having chicken rice before for a meal. They are neither people who have been suffering from some form of plague that they have not had a proper meal for a couple of weeks, but these are the people, who we term them as professionals in our society, who are those people who have high education standards, who are those with the 5cs, the supposingly highly successful group of people, are the same people who are rushing for a generous amount of chicken rice served in Suntec City Convention Hall which will cost them around $2.50.(I'm comparing to the standard of the best chicken rice of 2004, which is found in Maxwell Hawker).I'm not sure if that chicken rice is the best around(I'm not saying it doesn't taste great, so please dun get offended), or is it like a chance of a lifetime thing where you only get to try this once.

So, once and for all, I have changed my perception about some of the so-call working adults in this world and wonder if their conducts can be comparable to kids at certain times. I can't help but feel for the reception crew, for their efficiency in topping up those items that some "locusts" have seemed to swarm over the plates. They also have to bear with those people laying plates and their cutleries all over the area, and provide the best service they can for any kind of request. Apparently, some senior citizens must have thought that tomorrow is Chinese New Year as they were having a mini "reunion" dinner around one of those reception tables, that was meant for placing plates for guests to take. In all, its very disappointing to see the ugly side of humans, and it took me one night to see all of that.

However, on the good side, it is good to be at such events where you get to mingle around with people from the industry. Like I got to know that lady who was in charge of the buffet reception this evening, and she's just graduated from SMU and only worked there for a few weeks. You also get to experience talking with some of these professionals, who will share bits and pieces of their work experience with you.

China Great Land's IPO Launch!!! (Part one)

Woo people! This is the happening event for the week sia!Today I worked until 8 plus... and althought I'm very tired now, I swear under the moon and stars that I'm gonna blog about the press conference for China Great Land's (CGL) IPO Launch that was held this evening at Suntec Convention Centre.

Call me a mountain tortoise if you want, or maybe you could be someone like me, to attend a press conference by those big shots and take it as an eye-opener. Yes, when I mean big shots it really means BIG, with all those managing directors, CEOs or director or manager of some sort, and yeah, not forgetting the media was there as well. Altogether, there were more than 200 people who attended the event.

But of course, small fries like me, Cheryl Loh and another colleague Andi were asked to handle the reception area, to deal with the RSVP list. Furthermore, because this event is only for those invited guests only, the intended idea was that we have to be firm with those uninvitied guest and turn them away. For every invited guest, we were then required to distribute the press kits (which includes a copy of CGL's prospetus neatly place into a folder together with the press release and their brochure in a beautiful bag. [Note that the first 150 early birds get free gifts as well... a crystal bull and about 200 press kits also comes with a $2 toto ticket for the coming draw(I'm serious)]
So, in short the job is simple, its like marking attandance for a big lecture group, and give them those "goodie" bags as they come.

As the saying goes, reality is harsh, what happened at the reception counter was more like a scene taken off movies like Titanic, where you have those crew members of the ship telling people that it's only for meant for ladies and you see men arguging on that issue. People crowd around the booth and those uninvited guest were insisting that they received invites from Stratagem, or that they sent out their replies late and thus their name was not on our list. When all else fail, they will try to pull along some big shot to throw their weight on us, or start giving us some strange names to get into the room. In the end, we gave priority to those invited guest first and allow those uninvited guest in, after registering their names.

In today's scenario, there were many "so-called" guests who came in for the main purpose of that free $48/- buffet meal rather than being sincerely interested in the shares offer by CGL. At the same time, some SINGAPOREANS were apparently smarter in a sense and found out that their goodie bags had damaged gifts and asked for refunds. -.-. As mentioned earlier, there were about 200 bags with the toto ticket and came this lady who was fussing about one $2 donate-to-charity ticket just because she happened to be the 201st person to take the press kit, and my MD had to calm her down after this "poor" lady has just made a loss of $2.

So with all the people settled in, it is time for the press conference to commence. As usual, MDs of the various companies were there, from CGL and my supervisor was at the panel as well.

I finally post sth here. How's everyone doing now? Miss you guys....a lot...

Not like peiwen, I haven't get back my log book yet...so nervous. My company has abt 60 ppl, only 10% out of them are foreigners, 90% ladies. My supervisor is the only 'angmo' lady in the company, my department head came from hongkong, lady also...seem like all the foreigners are in my department. =)

My collegue always work OT, but dun have extra pay one... life is stress, can always heard them shouting to the media owner thru phone... today is my first day to work until ard 9pm, actually quite enjoying life there.

The only bad thing to work over there is making me fat, especially during CNY period. Today we were invited by SPH for lunch at a 5 stars hotel, when resume work after CNY, we will have 'lou hei' lunch in the office. On the second day of attachment, my dapartment head brought us for lunch at a Thai restaurant....*yummy*

Btw, shall we have dinner on this coming Sunday instead of outing on Sat? Me, Cher, n Jem will go to jb on Sat, Or who else want to join us?

Almost halfway through the 2nd week~!! Hang in there guys~!! Next week will have a long break because of Chinese New Year. Hope all those who are celebrating will get big fat hong baos~!! small department but everyone's nice.. kinda boring cos i've been working on the corporate newsletter since day one and it's still "under construction"..

i'm forever glued to my desk cos i have everything including my own phone extension..
aka i don't nid to walk anywhere unless i want to.. everything's where it should be and everything's still rather ok, except for the fact that i was on mc for 3 days of the 1st week.. heh.

5) to all: i checked out the NTU course for info and comm and it's real bad. out of 175 places only 17 are for poly students. but you can try and see how it goes. there's this test whereby you have to go through an interview, a GP test and the portfolio. you have to "sell" yourself and tell them why they should allow you through. all the best people! all the luck.. tho i cant say the same for myself

Ok guys...seems like alot of you haven't give me any suggestions yet. I quite like the idea of a 1-day trip to Sentosa. We can play beach volleyball~!! Oh yeah...KTV sounds great to me too. Actually I've been wanting the whole class to go KTV together for a class outing. Juz wanna have a chance to hear everyone (erm...on second thoughts, maybe I don't wanna hear someone sing...) sing before we graduate. So the rest can give some comments? Cos I thought since most of us are going back on Saturday to hand up the PP portfolio then perhaps we can have an outing or sorts on that day.

Oh yeah...the second week of attachment is here. Hang in there k? Finish with this week and we will all get a long break during the Chinese New Year week. =)

and they are really retarded too... with a tendancy to pull people's hair and then ask them what is it. they also like to ask if they could hitch a lift but dumbly stand outside the car and not get in.

Seems like only Bert has responded to my entry. I need more suggestions. You're right that we do need something new for a change. Ice-skating sounds a cool (literally) idea. What do the rest of you think of it? Though I have my reservations (I got 1 of my front tooth chipped off during my first ice-skating experience...oh well) but I'm still game. =)
By the way, there was a suggestion that we could use our household receipts and take it as claims for a "chalet" class outing? What do you peepz think about it? Maybe you can ask your parents to hold on to the groceries receipts? Juz in case =)

Hmm... What's better than having kic kats, m & n's to go go around the office? I'm currently slacking again until further notice, with my msn log on, my coffee on the table and listening to my iPod mini while blogging away. And oh... Its a very "Money-mind" thing over here... haha, but I like the idea of a whole new experience, and can tell that this company here is very into their business of financial/investors relations.

Oh yah, it seems that next monday its going to be an O.T, because we are involved in the IPO Launch for this company on 31/01/2005. So we are going to be at the event from 3.30pm until 8.00pm. I'm sure its going to be a great experience, with all those big shots around~ =p

N those poor peeps there r soooo over worked itz sooo not funny. As for us interns, we juz sit arnd for most part of the day n juz laze arnd. She gives us stupid brainless jobs to do like forgery...where we hafta sign her stupid name on CNY cards....affix stamps on envelopes etc. I hope i can juz grit my teeth n put up wif her shit for 3 months! Ok guys...this is so very important k? If anyone of you happens to have a receipt for a meal that came up to approx. $200 PLEASE INFORM ME K? Cos Mr Loh can't claim back his money from the PTN funds for the class tees because the FUCKING SCHOOL SAID IT'S NOT A FORMAL OUTING SO HE CAN'T CLAIM. Damn...what a stupid school.
Anywayz if that can't be done we will need a quick class outing soon and spend about $10 per person? This is kinda urgent cos I don't wanna hold up Mr Loh's money. So I will kindly appreciate if you guys can do 2 things for me:

1. Please inform me ASAP whether you are on a 5-day week attachment or 5 1/2-day week. If you're on 5 1/2 days, please indicate the time you finish work on Saturday. For those who don't have a standard off on weekends, please inform me too.

2. Some suggestions on what we can do for that quick class outing will be very much appreciated. Juz wanna find out what most of you wanna do cos I don't feel good deciding everything on my own.
